Frequently asked

The questions we get most.

Not answered here? The department office replies to email during working hours.

Admissions

No. The first-semester programming sequence assumes no prior experience. What matters more is comfort with mathematics and a willingness to debug something for two hours without giving up.

Academics

Track electives begin in the fifth semester, so the choice is made at the end of the fourth — after you have taken artificial intelligence, data mining and software engineering, and know which one you actually enjoy.

Current students

Use the student grades portal and sign in with your university email; a one-time link is sent to your inbox. Peer-assessment results appear there too once a lecturer releases them.

Research

Yes, and they do — usually from the second year. Contact a group lead directly, or start with the Undergraduate Research Circle.

Careers

Yes. The four-credit industry internship sits in semester seven and is assessed on a report, a presentation and the host supervisor's review.
